Flatfender Jeeps are cool, and this Willys is no exception. One of the funny things about flat fenders is that it doesn’t really matter how you build one because it it still just plain fun. And the ones that are all pretty and painted up are no more fun than the ones that looked totally thrashed, so why bother. But the work that went into this particular one in Celina Tennessee is pretty bad assed. After all, how often do you see a rat rod Willy’s flat fender Jeep? In our world, not often.
Lon Hammett sent this one in to use via the tip line, and we dig it. The 1949 CJ2A has the perfect chop and the bikini top is cool. It’s powered by the proverbial small block Chevy with a Powerglide behind it and a ’51 Dodge Front axle and S10 rear hold the thing up. The single greatest feature of this thing is the paint though. That’s patina you can’t fake, and it make the Jeep. We’d drive it. Cross country or wherever. I want it.

I dig it
I dig it but cross country on those thin covered tractor seats would lead to hemorrhoid surgery.
Looks safer than the one from Finn and Freiburger had on Roadkill lol………..
Don’t know how well this one is rigged together, but I’d still take Mikes. You know it is rigged.
reminds me of a toy I had as a kid…I’d drive it…although not far with those seats…
Love it. Crap it’s not that far from me…tempting
I’d drive it. I would change the seats, and put in a back seat so the kids could go for a ride. I’d like to build something similar.
