Earlier we asked if the $750 LTD was the best thing you could buy for $750 on Craigslist, and then we ran across this Camaro! Sure it’s more than 4 times the price of the LTD, and it might not get chicks quite as well, but look at what it comes with! For less than $2500 you are getting a fresh LT1, that sounds like it has a lot of new parts in it, backed by a T56, with nitrous, 4.10 gears, and goodies galore. Seriously? For $2500? Wow, if you have money to spend, now is the time. We’ve been finding crazy deals on cars online, but this one gets you into a late model hot rod like right now and at the right price. If the couch had enough change in it to buy this thing, we would. And we checked!
But as good a deal as this is for a 4th Gen Camaro, it makes us question what we should do. Assuming we had the money to spend, do we go for the Camaro that has lots of parts already in it and sounds like it would be a riot to drive with a T56 and spray? Or do we get all BangShifty and grab an LTD wagon and get our LS Turbo on? Damn these good deals!
Truth be told we can’t afford another project, but man we want them!

I’m seeing these as a rolling connect-and-cruise smog-legal drivetrain upgrade for earlier cars…with a free Camaro body included if you want one. ’94-95 means MAF sequential-port 350, OBD-I single-cat and a Borg Warner-built T56, all good things and ‘way less cost and a little less trouble than a LS if 300hp is enough for a “driver”. We’re kinda on that path with a G-body El Camino and a $1500 Trans-Am now. Still, that F-body…Zoomy stuff. Stick-shift, and T-tops! There was a day I would have donated body parts for one of those cars.
If this was in New England I’d already have it in my driveway. Perfect T56 donor for an older Chevy.
Sell the interior, body, and motor to make back your money and then some.
I wonder how hard it would be to stuff a Coyote into it…
for $3250 just buy ’em both… spend the $1500 and get the 40K mile 5.0L drivetrain, too. You’d still be $250 under $5K.
I’d buy the Z28 and drive it back to NC! That’s of course if I had the money!
Great deal though!
