Looking For A Wheelstander? Boy Do We Have A Deal For You!

Looking For A Wheelstander? Boy Do We Have A Deal For You!

Both Chad and I REALLY want to drive a wheelstander someday, basically just to say that we did it. Because zillions of you read this site everyday we know that there are lots more guys like us out there. We also know that not everyone can be as poor as us because that would be mathematically impossible in an industrial society. That means somewhere out there in readerland there is a guy or guys with about $2,000 burning a hole in their pocket and the unnatural craving to get their wheelstand on in a big way. For that potentially huge pool of people we offer this, “The Glass Stallion” Mustang wheelstander that is currently for sale in Oregon.

Like virtually everything we show you on this site, some assembly is required. There’s no motor, there’s no roll cage hoop on the chassis (we assume it was cut off to be modified to better fit a new owner/driver, and you are also going to have to find a transmission and driveshaft as well. We’ve not been able to dig up a lot of info about the car, who owned it, what it ran for elapsed times, or anything other than what the ad says about a life that was spend mostly running in the Northwest quadrant of the country. We’ve sent the feelers out to our drag racing historian buddies to see what we can find.

Hey, for just a shade over $2,000 it seems like a decent deal to us. The body appears to be in great shape, you get a plumbed roller of a car and while you’d have to blow it all apart to clean stuff and freshen it up, you still have the majority of the stuff you’ll need to get into the wheelstanding business. We know that we’re crazy, but we know that you’re crazier. Someone needs to buy this car and someone else needs to teach Chad and I how to drive a wheelstander. Let’s get after it, folks!

Thanks to Dylan for the tip!

My boss used to own this car! His name was Jerald Mcbee He also owned the Mcbee’s silver sands motel (see rear quarter). He owned and built a few other wheelstander Tijana Toad and The wheel standing semi truck Defiance. Jerry also built a ton of street rods in the Grays Harbor area. He sold this when I was young don’t know alot of details. I’m sure it had a big chevy! But you never know. He has since passed away. R.I.P. If you want to ask more questions feel free I will try to answer them for you.

I used to know him quite well and I have photos I might be able to send to you. They are from the 80’s. When did he pass away?
