Rough Start: The Proper Upgrade Plan – Buy This 1965 Ford Galaxie XL, And Upgrade To An Available FE Engine!

If you own a smartphone you’ve heard of plan upgrades. Unlimited data, long distance perks, free apps, and all of that mess. Upgrade this. Free that. I might be the youngest of the three of us, but I fall in that age group that splits the gap between before and after computers went mainstream. I can play video games and I can work a smart phone but there is no way under the sun that I will ever keep up with all of the potential upgrades that you can do. I like the options list simple and easy. Take this 1965 Ford Galaxie XL we found on Craigslist. As it is, we’d leave it be and daily it. There’s nothing top-tier, it’s no performance model, it’s just a good solid car, the everyday car. That 352 under the hood will move it from A to B.

Or, for a little more, you can take a pick of one of three motors the seller has in the wings. Would you leave the 352 under the hood, or would you opt for the 390? Maybe the funky 410 would be a better fit? Or why not go full-kill and stuff the 428 under the hood and have a ball of a time? It’s not that you are going to lose either way…even if you kept this Galaxie stock, it’s a score. With $500 left over on the budget after you buy the car, maybe you should just spend the money on gas and go on a trip for a bit to think it over!
