Not At SEMA: This 30th Anniversary Camaro With Conestoga Wagon Wheels Is Not In Las Vegas But It Could Be In Your Garage

This break from all that is right and good in the automotive world known as the 2014 SEMA show is brought to you by BangShifty tipster Mike Kenworthy who posed the unanswerable question, “When will the insanity stop?!” In the case of this Camaro the insanity will stop as soon as some part of the driveline or suspension fails due to being subjected to otherworldly forces by the massive wheels that inhabit the four corners under it. 1997 was not a bad year for Camaros. It was the 30th anniversary of the model, the LT1 engine was about to give way to the LS1 (and we all know how that turned out), and to make the birthday of the Camaro, you could personalize you car with some 30th anniversary pieces. For instance, this car has seats with some embroidery work done on the headrests from the factory denoting the three decade achievement. By all indications it was a respectable car with a red paint job and a tan convertible roof. It was someone’s pride and joy the first day it rolled off the lot. Now? Now it is a rolling disaster area.

From the degradation on ride quality, handling, braking, and the sheer fact that it looks like a clown car, we’re not sure why anyone would do this to any car, let alone one originally designed to do all of the aforementioned stuff well. The good news is that if the car were actually driven those huge tires would spend a lot of time being jammed up into the body over every pothole, nook, and cranny the road threw at you. All of that despite the fact that it seems someone took a reciprocating saw to the sheet metal to give the wheel/tire combo room to fit.  Oh, the convertible top has no back window either. That’s cool, right?

I know exactly who this was done by, and I’m pretty sure they do this sort of thing for the express purpose of getting attention (mission accomplished). But I won’t say who, because I’m not touching that issue with a 10ft pole.

  2. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

The best thing to do to complete this abomination is to set fire to those stupid wheels and free the world of another Chevy!

Lemons race car dejour! Would give new meaning to the phrase: “If you ain’t rubbing, you ain’t racing.”
