Smoking Hot: Five Corvettes At Fire Sale Prices!

Smoking Hot: Five Corvettes At Fire Sale Prices!

I don’t need to know the person who wrote this ad to understand what is going through their mind. The listing and the pictures say it all: five Corvettes – a 1961, a 1964, a 1970, a 1972, and a 1974 – were involved in a fire. As the flames were put out and the damage became crystal clear, the owner’s stomach went completely sour and just like in relationships, there comes a time when the heartbreak becomes too much to bear, so instead of trying to save what’s left, they put the cars up for sale, disgusted. They can’t bear to look at them anymore. Get them to a good home, hope you can save what’s left of it, but get it out of my sight. We’d be sick to our stomachs too if it was us suffering the ordeal, we can’t blame them one bit.

All of the cars got toasted to a degree, but it looks like the 1961 took the worst of it. A full restoration job, the missing nose body pieces say that what was the front fender, hood, and most of the nose is now little more than ash. Likewise, the 1970 droptop got a pretty good cooking too, with everything forward of the rear wheels getting the flambé treatment. The 1964 might clean up with some work, and the 1972 and 1974 cars were in-progress builds that need to be assessed.

If you wanted to take the entire lot away, you’re looking at $42,000. Individually, the 1961 and 1964 are both valued at $18,000, the 1970 and 1972 at $5,000, and the 1974 at an even thousand dollars. Regardless whether or not the money comes in, no amount of coin is going to ease the pain of seeing these cars, which we don’t doubt for a second were loved and cared for, in the condition they are in now.

Thanks to Andy30thZ for the tip!

Just heartbreaking…… but they’re THINGS and as such they can go in a moment.

So sad (unless the owner had a cash flow issue)

Its always sad when cars or other things people love gets damage. My friend had a Nice 58 impala and a Nice 69 bigblock corvette. He unfortunatly stored them for the winter in the Wrong building where some bikers had a stash of harleys, they also had a beef with some other sorry individuals that burnt the building to the Ground. We had just performer a total restoration of the impala, but sorry to say there was not anything left but ashes and twisted metal. My heart broke when i saw the remains. All that work, money and history gone. Hope they get some out of it.
