The other day I was checking out the Feb. ’58 issue of Hot Rod that features one of the coolest covers of all time with almost no blurbs and an image of a bunch of kids lined up to race in their quarter midgets. (It rules, but would fail miserably on today’s newsstands.) So imagine my thrill when I was able to find a real vintage quarter midget on CraigsList! It had to be this week’s Pick.
The ad claims this one is a legit old racer from the ’60s though the body is a late-’50s Wahlborg. It also says this one has been in the family for 40 years so it’s kind of sad that it’s for sale, but we’d own the thing in a sna if we had $2,100 to burn. Plus it’s got 5hp B&S power, so you know we could step that up with an alky-burning Blockzilla.
