Well it wouldn’t be a Monday if we weren’t reporting on Danica Patrick’s latest performance in a stock car. It would be honest to say that she did better than her debut in Daytona, but it would also be honest to say that she was lapped three times before finishing the race in 31st.
Obviously with this being her second race, realistic expectations would be that she survives through the end of the contests and continues to get better. She wasn’t too pleased with her performance though. Quoted in a Los Angeles Times piece by Jim Peltz, she said, “I’m a competitor and I want to run up front and I’ve gotten used to running up front and so it’s an adjustment, it’s like starting from zero again.” More like starting from 31st, but we get the point.
In an ego check moment, Patrick was lapped by the leaders (the first time) 18 laps into the race. She also got busted twice for speeding in the pits.
