At least every six months you see or hear of this stupidity. Last time I heard of it, a dealership ran the living hell out of a guy’s ZL1 Camaro. Now you have YouTube user macAbuzer getting taken by a dealership. macAbuzer has what sounds like a very healthy V6 Mustang and took the car in to have a small upper-end knock checked out. The dealer techs decided the best way to fix it was by driving the car around in first gear freakin’ EVERYWHERE.
What is sincerely surprising is that the two idiots actually see the camera in the car. They see it, and decide that the camera must not be on all the time. How stupid do you have to be, in this day and age, to see a camera in a car and think that it’s not recording you?
According to the writeup on the video, the transmission was injured, his aftermarket wheels were damaged and the car had magically gained over eighty miles on the odometer. He’s already tried to get the dealership to make right on his claims, even with the video proof, but they only replaced the wheels, after fighting with them over half-assed repairs.
If you absolutely have to take your car to a dealership, at least mark the odometer. This is no isolated incident.
(Thanks to Scott Brown for the tip!)
Scumbags.
They should be blacklisted from ever working on vehicles again.
