McTaggart tried to be cute today and pose a donk related question to you, the valued readers of BangShift. Hours after he put that item in our magical blog machine (a 1959 Kelvinator model) I was contacted by an unnamed informant who went by the oddly specific alias of “Matt Graves from American Powertrain” who told me about DonkSnob.com. Matt was emoting things through text messaging that I had never seen anyone emote in that manner so I stopped what I was doing, which was ultra important, and went right to the site. This place is a Mario Brothers warp zone of insanity. Remember the old “Hot or Not” website? This was a place that people posted photos of themselves or others and asked them to be rated on a scale of hotness or notness. This site is just like that except it is written in a psuedo-foreign language and one guys determined what was good and bad. His idea of what good and bad is actually pretty interesting in the same way that the Zapruter film is.
We called the site a “ghost ship” because it has not been updated in some time but please don’t let that stop you from clicking the link. There’s so many bizarre cars, bizarre videos, and bizarre statements made here it defies all description. The Crown Vic with the toilet in the back and the artfully askew rolls of TP is a mind blower on a couple of levels but it is not the craziest thing on the site by far. The donk think is a part of the car hobby that we don’t get (clearly) but it is a part of the car hobby that is sticking around, whether you like it or not. During our recent travels down south we saw lots of these cars in lots of different shapes and sizes. I did have to explain what they were to my wife and I did have to explain to my sons that they were not four wheel drives, which was fun. “But why, dad?”
We’re proud to still be a living and breathing website. Thankfully Chad and I ditched our idea to make this an all donks all the time site when we got going. It doesn’t seem like the best format.

This is an all out assault on good taste and the eyeballs. I will give it to the guy though, the ones he likes are the least offensive. It’s funny how he plays the “offense” game with them.
My inner grammar nazi is having a conniption right now. I don’t know which is worse, the mangling of the cars or the mangling of the English language. The combo is giving me a headache.

The saddoes that created this parade of hideousness and bad taste should be flayed alive and have their skins turned into nice soft cloths to wipe away the memory of this perversion of all that stands for beauty and truth!

i saw donksnob a couple years back and thought that page was HILARIOUS! I dug it so much I pretty much went though all of it in a couple of days… cars with big motors called ROLLERS! priceless!
