After a torrent of car show photos, Charles Wickam now takes us to the drags down in the great state of Texas. Specifically, these photos are from the TXDRL (Texas Drag Racing League) event held recently at Houston Motorsports Park. The track is an all concrete eighth-mile facility outside of (you guessed it!) Houston. It was one of the original ADRL tracks and held a couple of awesome races back in the early days of that series, before it went Hollywood. 

The TXDRL is an organization similar to several operating in different regions of the country that present a format that has several index classes along with a couple heads up categories for racers wanting to let it all hang out. These type of events draw a lot of different cars and most of them are privateer efforts run out of home shops. That’s the kind of racing we dig the most.
