Hate your office job? Looking to make a switch into the exciting world of race track operations? We’ve got a deal for you! Abilene Dragstrip (not shockingly, located in Abilene, Texas) is for sale. The great looking strip was built less than 10 years ago and features an all concrete racing surface, covered grandstand and full amenities. It’s current owner is looking to sell due to health reasons…hopefully not brought on by running the strip.
The good news is that the track is not closed and will remain open and on the full 2010 schedule while a buyer is sought. The owner of the track, a man named Dean Kennedy, bought the track back in 2007 for his daughter and son-in-law to run, but they hightailed it back to East Texas after a couple years. That’s a hell of a gift if you ask us!
The strip is really bitchin’ with 10 acres of paved parking, awesome lighting, air conditioned bathrooms, concession stands, and all the other stuff you’d expect out of a place built just around the turn of the new century.
