The media is always so inaccurate. When we saw the headline that thieves had used a “bulldozer” to steal an ATM in Detroit we were expecting to see a Caterpillar D8 in the middle of a bank building. Instead we found out the idiots used a backhoe and even better, got away with no loot. These are easily the most brazen, stupid crooks in America.
Through some analysis of the photos attached to the news story linked below, we have mentally reconstructed the incident. Here’s the short story. Dudes get high. Dudes decided to steal an ATM. Dudes see a backhoe at a construction site adjacent to a bank. Dudes hot wire tractor, pry ATM off base, and load into truck.
The perfect plan went south after the pair decided not to close the tailgate and the damned ATM fell onto the ground with the entire load of money inside. The two crooks kept going and ended up stealing exactly zero dollars.
