Not that there is any such thing as a “good” shortie style car, but for some reason we hate this one more than most, probably because we had the hots so badly for the L79 barn find car we featured earlier this week. This ad has all the right buzzwords. Mainly, “one of one”, “This is the only car in the USA like this”, etc. According to the seller, the shop that he took it to for the installation of the convertible top and windows, held this piece for three years before he went back to get it. The seller goes on to claim that the shop owner told him that the car would be worth more than $30,000 when done. Maybe he misunderstood and the shop owner was speaking in terms of Japanese Yen instead of dollars. There’s not a person on planet Earth, even remote villagers that had never seen a car before, that would lay out anything near $30,000 for this clown car.
But hey, the good news is that it doesn’t run, has no top, no speakers, and it looks like something used in the filming of PeeWee’s Big Adventure. We could literally type a 50,000 word manifesto about how wrong this on all levels. WTF is the end goal? Maybe someone an answer that question for us. When this is done, is someone supposed to look at it and be impressed by a facet of it or is the actual intention to built a car that can be put on a poster that reads, “DON’T YOU DARE EVEN EFFING THINK ABOUT DOING THIS TO AN AUTOMOBILE”. If there is an actual goal in a project like this, we’d love to hear it. If the seller believes that anyone of sound mind and body would have ever paid $30k for this car, even on its best day dipped in freaking gold, we feel for him.
Would you pay $8500 for this car? If so please tell us why, just because we may be missing something cool here but we’re pretty sure we aren’t.

My guess is no. In addition to challenging aesthetics, it would likely be quite dangerous to drive. With luck it will never run and this hypothesis will not be tested.

Being a chevy man that hates novas, I think thats the nicest one I have seen. Really nice work. Anyone who has a four door that is told they are wasting money on restoring it, save the two back doors and build a shlort. Gotta love the unibody.
