It is always weird when I get a tip on the hotline and it is from my own local area. Take this semi-completed trike that is powered by the engine and transmission from an Olds Toronado. Yeah, we’re talking 455ci and the always revered, chain drive TH425 transmission hanging on the back of a damned trike frame. The burnout potential for this creation is nearly limitless, but it is far from done. Yes, the engine and trans are mounted on the frame, but we can’t even get too good a look at the frame due to the mass of vegetation growing up and around the hulk. We’re guessing that this baby has been sitting a while, but hey, the engine ran when it was pulled from the Olds.
To us, it looks as though the whole front end of the Olds was grafted to the back to the custom made frame which has a normal bike front end but appears to flare out to meet the Olds front clip. “Finishing” this thing would be a lot of work. Obviously a cooling system has to be installed for the engine, there needs to be some engine controls, brakes, a body, seating for the driver and a passenger, and a pile of tires, because this would be the ultimate burnout machine. With no weight, and about 500 ft/lbs of torque, we’d recommend buying stock in a rubber tree plantation. You’re going to need it.

Run! I hear Banjos
The hard work is ALWAYS done.
When people can’t be bothered to just pull the POS out of the weeds for some pictures, and maybe pick some of the crap off of it, what is the point of pictures anyway? This project, if you want to call it that, has been abandoned for good reason. Want a trike with an olds engine? Build one. Better yet, find a guy who built one that actually runs and buy that. It’ll be easier to sell when you get scared off it.
Agreed…..motor was left attached to car frame and it looks like it was cut with a torch and an old motorcycle frame was welded to the front.
RUN!
Where do you sit, on the air cleaner?
I bet it comes with a free carton of Marlboro’s and a nagging 60 yr old biker chick.
WHY…WHY…WHY…..??? WHY would you guys put up a link to something… so close…so unique…. so in need of finishing….. I’m off to the south shore….. 🙂
I have seen this before. It’s in the same condition this guy bought it in a few years back, off craigslist. Given the right amount of work, it could be the most boss trike at bike week.
