Craigslist Motherload: A Junkyard Owner Is Selling 40+ Cool Cars In California!

Craigslist Motherload: A Junkyard Owner Is Selling 40+ Cool Cars In California!

Here’s one that make your eyes bug out. A junkyard owner in California is apparently getting out of the business after more than three decades in operation and with his departure, he’s selling off more than 40 cool cars that have been his “private stock”. We’re talking about El Caminos by the busload, muscle cars, pony cars, trucks, even an exotic or two. The weird thing is that the ad states the cars will be available for inspection in June, so we’re not sure if he’s already had people in to look at them or if there is a big auction being planned for June.

The guy had a serious case of El Camino addiction as he’s got rows of them. As the whole “collection” has been living in Westminster, California for thirty plus years, the sheet metal has cool patina but there doesn’t appear to be major rot. Hell, with some wheels, tires, and a little elbow grease, lots of these cars may be able to drive off the damned lot! Damn you west coast…damn you.

Curses aside, this is a totally neat collection of stuff and if you’re looking for a project, parts car, or just some old, unmolested sheet metal, this dude has your parts!

Thanks to Jim and Alex for the tip!

Ive been to this yard many times over the years. yes there are some cool cars here. But all of them are in need of COMPLETE restoration. I also hear the owner has cherry picked all the 67-70 Camaros. Not for the faint of heart.

The fantasy of driving one of these off this lot is just that a Fantasy. And by June he will have allready sold most of the good stuff to friends and family. YMMV

Why wait until June? Looks like they are open to the public.

Pretty sure this is them, color on the building and the trees are right.

I’m surprised more people didn’t know about this stash. Westminster borders Huntington Beach, not exactly the boonies.
