In the realm of bitchin’ and unique Mopars, this 1960 Dodge Dart Seneca coupe stands all by itself on an island of awesome. We saw this eBay ad posted on Facebook by BangShift reader Eric and had to share it. With a draw through style turbocharger setup, four speed handle coming up through the floor, and overall great looks we want it BADLY!
Late 1950s Chrysler products have a style and attitude all of their own. It seems like the designers at the time who were working for Ma Mopar expanded the cues being used by GM and Ford to make some audacious and eye catching cars. The fins are big, the front end looks like it is 14-feet wide and the whole package appears to be running along at full tilt while sitting still. The cars were dialed back a little in 1961 and then went full Exner weirdo in 1962, so we consider these 1959 and 1960 models the height of coolness for the Chryslers of this time period.
Outside of the really nice quality of the body and interior of this car, we’re totally attracted to it because of the engine. We have seen several turbocharged slant six engines, but this is the first that we have seen with an old school draw through combo using a 600CFM Holley and AiR TO4 turbo. We have no idea if this is a kit someone used to make or if the owner/builder of the car actually crafted it himself, but it looks totally professional. The piping and packaging appears to be very high quality.
While the boost levels are probably low and even with the extra atmospheres feeding the engine, power isn’t going to be off the charts, the Dart must be a hoot to drive and is probably quick enough to at least open the eyes of other car owners while squirting away from lights or passing with a heavy foot on the highway.
The starting bid is set at $19,000 and while that’s too rich for our blood, you couldn’t restore or build this car for that kind of money. Hell, we can’t remember the last time we even saw a 1960 Dodge Dart Seneca coupe let alone one in this condition. Buck up and bid on this 100% BangShift approved Mopar and then take us for ride and demonstrate the power of the force fed leaning tower of power!

Cool Mopar.
Very inspirational – I have got to get back to work on my Dart.
Just 3 items I would change: remove the “Turbocharged” script; swap the shifters T-handle for a cueball; and choose a different wheel-style for the wires. Otherwise, beautiful!
My first car was a 60 Plymouth, probably one of the rarest Mopars of the era. It was a Suburban 2 door wagon, with radio delete, slant 6, and “three on the tree”.
Ended up with about 300,000 miles on it; as soon as I left home for the summer my dad junked it. It had been a beach car since brand new, so it had it’s share of rust, but could have been restored.
The two door wagon was really cool. I’ve never seen another one; most of the survivors were the well equipped versions so they had 4 (five) doors.
I’m digging that instead of a Vintage Air A/C, it has the old style under dash breeze box.
