eBay Find: A Custom Harley Board Track Style Motorcycle Powered By Two Pulse Jet Engines

eBay Find: A Custom Harley Board Track Style Motorcycle Powered By Two Pulse Jet Engines

Admit it, you read the title a couple of times. We have stared at the photos of this motorcycle…err…jet bike for more time than we’d ever publicly admit. We have no idea why anyone would build a modern rendition of an ancient Harley-Davidson board track race bike from the turn of the century and we certainly have no idea why those same people would choose to power it with two Argus pulsejet engines. These are the same style of jet engines developed to power the deadly V-1 rockets that Germany lobbed at England during WWII. Obviously, the two mounted to this bike are smaller than those used to power bombs a thousand miles or more.

The seller claims that the bodywork on the bike was built with the classic P-51 Mustang in mind and the whole thing is custom from front to back. There are new Avon tires on the bike front and rear and the brakes come from a new Harley. That’s good because when you clamp them down the miniscule tires will surely not lock up and provide roughly zero friction against the pavement, lunar surface, or cliff face you’ll be smashing into.

The one thing that we wince at in the ad is the line that reads, “We have checked and if this bike was brought to the salt flats it could set a record on its second full pass.  Put your name in the RECORD BOOKS.” Obviously, the potential top speed on paper is completely insane, but we’re not sure who was consulted on this and frankly, there is no evidence to suggest that this bike has made any high speed runs to back those statements up.

It has a whole steam punk vibe to it with the oldish looking chassis and the two honking pulsejet engines on the sides.

This is the weirdest thing we have seen on eBay in some time. Scroll down to see photos and the link to the eBay ad. It could be yours for $22,000.

It looks more like a steampunk art project than something you can actually race… not that I wouldn’t try to see what it would take to get it through the Bonneville tech inspection if I owned it.

problem with pulse just is you have to be up to speed to turn them on. Which is why the Germans launched the V1 bombs with rockets. No piston engine in this thing so its just a conversation piece.

PS what idiot wrote the captcata thing? It sucks and blows. Type a number? Bah
