This may be the answer to the question, “What do you get the motorcycle guy who has it all?” Even THAT guy doesn’t have one of these and at $195,000, you’d seriously need it for a project or just want it more than anyone else on Earth. So why is this thing so expensive? We have no concrete idea on that fact but we can tell you some neat stuff about the engine. Firstly, it has hemispherical combustion chambers and it was primarily designed for racing and hill climbing bikes back in the golden era of those sports, before WWII. Apparently Crocker was so convinced of his design and the fact that this engine was a world beater, he sold all of them with the guarantee that he’d take the engine back for free if the rider was beaten by an Indian or Harley-Davidson powered motorcycle. According to the ad, he never had to take one back.
The power it makes is probably laughable by modern standards, but we just thought that this engine was too cool not to share. The eBay ad has lots more into on the Crocker racing engines. We like things that are shiny and especially if they have hemi heads on them! Revel in the awesome of cutting edge 1937 technology by scrolling down to see the engine below and then hit the eBay link. Insane price!
