eBay Find: A 600-HP Ford RS200 Evolution Group B Rally Rocket

eBay Find: A 600-HP Ford RS200 Evolution Group B Rally Rocket

We’ve written lots about the Group B rally cars of the 1980s. The so-called “Killer Bs” were machines so far ahead of their time, the FIA banned them after only a couple of seasons in existence. Now is your chance to own one of them. A 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution has surfaced and is currently on eBay for a large sum of dough. The bidding is well over $100,000 and the reserve has not been met yet.

When you consider that this car was built more than 20 years ago and has a lightweight composite body, a 600hp four cylinder engine, suspension that would still be considered cutting edge today, all wheel drive that will force your eyeballs to the back of your skull under acceleration and brakes that will have those same eyeballs bouncing off the windshield when the binders are clamped on, it really is amazing. This is one of about 20 cars that were treated to the 600hp engine, while most have a tamer 430hp mill.

The car has less than 200 miles on it as it has apparently lived as a show piece in a collection. There is factory rustproofing on the underside of the car, factory paint dabs and markings that show limited use in the car and original tires that look like they’ve not clawed and dirt or loose Earth since ’86.

We want this car and we want to go flying through the woods in it! 600hp, all wheel drive, and the inate ability to swallow nearly every exotic supercar in the world whole? Where do we sign?

Thanks for the tip bnjny

Ford built this years ago, but what happened to that technology for all this time. I wanted more than Fiestas thank you very much.
