We’re oddly fascinated with the OHC six Pontiacs of the late 1960s. The engine was a pet project of John DeLorean and an attempt to appeal to the enthusiast driver who was looking for a more balanced, European experience rather than brutish, big inch, straight line performers. This 1966 LeMans Sprint for sale on eBay is an unrestored barn find that may be the coolest, most original example on Earth.
The car was parked in a California garage for 23 years after being used by its second owner for many miles. Original right down to the trunk spatter, the car has lived its whole life in California, otherwise known as the state of automotive suspended animation. The car still has the original T3 headlights in it!
After sitting for decades, the seller took the car out of the garage, dusted it off, rebuilt the carb, replaced the fluids, and fired it up. There are videos of the car cruising around in the eBay ad and it looks and sounds awesome to us.
Yes, this car is not going to win a whole lot of drag races, but it is pretty rare, totally unique, and far cooler than a 326 powered LeMans any day of the week!

All original….uh don’t think so. Check the air breather, it’s off a 67 Tempest/Lemans, the original should be a pancake style with little luvers going around it and is all chrome…similar to the 67 Gto. Also where’s the California Air Emmisions pump that sets on top of the Alternator. How do I know because I have an all original, unmolested 1966 lemans Convertible 4 speed OHC Sprint car with yes the Facory working Air Emmisons! This is still a nice car but Brian do your homework before writting about an all original Lemans……
