We here at BangShift HQ are fully in love with old race car haulers, especially those of the factory variety. Reader Chris Crowley tipped us off to this absolutely killer 1974 Dodge factory drag car hauler for sale on eBay. We believe that this truck was built by Lou Olyenik at his Michigan truck body business. Olyenik owned the market in the 1970s for converting medium duty trucks into race car luggers. 

Looking at the inside of the box is what gave us the notion of the Olyenik connection. The inside of all the bodies we have seen out of the company have the same cool ramp setup. The sunken floor between the ramps would allow the car to be worked on in the trailer, and the underbody tool boxes were also a pretty traditional mark of an Olyenik constructed body. Either that, or this is a bad ass knock off!

The truck hauled all kinds of bitchin’ stuff over the years from Rod Shop sponsored racers to Butch Leal’s Pro Stocker! If this thing could talk, it would have some killer tales to tell. We’re calling total bullshit on the 88,000 miles listed on the truck. It has probably spun the odometer over a few times from 1974 until now. That’s a guess based on the general knowledge we have of drag racer’s gypsy lifestyle!
