eBay Find: A Neato Pro Street 1964 GTO

eBay Find: A Neato Pro Street 1964 GTO

With Hot Rod Drag Week looming in just a couple of days, we went and searched for something fun to take on the trip. We dug up a coolio 1964 Pontiac GTO that has been given the full Pro Street treatment and packs a punchy 428ci Pontiac mill. It wouldn’t be a class killer but it would be cool as hell to cruise!

There have been some cool hands laid on this thing. Richard Ruth, the dude who built the ’55 for Two Lane Blacktop was responsible for the ‘cage, back half, rear end install, and sheet metal work at his Ruth Enterprises shop. The motor was built by Joe Boghosian who was the lead mechanic for Dan Gurney back in the day. The engine has been dyno’d at over 500hp on pump gas.

There is no drag strip info so we can’t say what it runs, but it has more than enough grunt to be a blast on the street and respectable at the digs. They don’t come any more classically styled than the handsome ’64 GTO. The clean simple lines and perfect stance make this thing a real looker. Ruth did a bitchin’ job with the cage as well. At first glance you really don’t even see it in a side view.

This car flat out rules.
