We stumbled upon this crazy 1963 Corvette for sale on eBay and just had to share it. Sporting an all-aluminum 513ci Keith Black Hemi, force fed by a Littlefield 14-71 blower, and wearing the biggest drag radials known to man, it is way over the top. We should probably mention that this is a real 1963 split-window Corvette as well.
Rad Rides by Troy built the car and we’re trying to categorize it. Is it a retro-look Pro Street car, a wanna be Pro Mod, and ISCA show circut queen, or a legit racer? The ad claims that the motor makes 1,800 hp and is backed with a Lenco, so there’s plenty of snot to go around.
The wing, wheelie bar, and chutes really point back to the days of the Pro Fairgrounds cars, very few of which actually had the guts to back up their looks on the track. While this car is certainly not down on power, we think hooking those short-sidewall radials up on a drag strip will be mission impossible.
Certainly the guy who commissioned the build of this car had a vision, we’re just trying to work backward to see what it was.
This car should be a lightning rod of opinion. Share your thoughts!
