Every now and again, ever we’re amazed at the stuff that’ll just pop up on eBay. Today’s look-see is actually a double dose of Ford racing history: a set of all-out factory Boss 429 race heads and an all aluminum Boss Can-Am block. Was this stuff under a workbench or something?!
We’re writing this with the auction showing no bids and very little time left. Sniping anyone? Dedicated Ford restorers, big money enthusiasts, and museum people would kill for this stuff.
Since we’ll never own it, our fun comes from mentally reconstructing the past of these parts. Obviously the stuff is so rare because most of it was blown, melted, bent, and mashed into smithereens during competition. Most of the stuff that has lived, did so because it was on the spare parts shelf. Who knows the history of these particular pieces?
