End Date: If You Want To Get A C7 Corvette, You Might Want To Hurry!

End Date: If You Want To Get A C7 Corvette, You Might Want To Hurry!

It is odd to me that the C7 Corvette is almost done. When I moved out to Kentucky at the end of 2013, pre-production models were freaking everywhere. There was the green one that was being driven by someone on the road that leads to what is now BangShift Mid-West, the silver one that would be out and about in town at random, the blue one that got stuffed into a rock wall near Sedona, Arizona…and now, the generation is done, about to leave in favor of the upcoming C8, the first production mid-engined Corvette. Time marches on and so does progress, and at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant, that means that you need to move your hind quarters if you want a C7 that you personally want to set up.

The official date of “done” is Tuesday, June 23rd, 2019 for any C7 Corvette special order. Don’t ask about the ZR-1, that ship has already sailed. Convertible orders are done at the end of…well, tomorrow, June 10th, 2019. Now, keep in mind, this is only for special orders. The dealership lot cars will still be available, and if you want to skip on the hassle, you should probably jump, since there’s discounts to move the C7s out of the limelight. And that needs to happen ASAP, because the last C7 Corvette to be built has already been set up: it will be a black Z06, manual trans, with the 3LZ trim package and it will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Connecticut on June 28th, 2019 with the proceeds benefitting the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which builds mortgage-free accessible smart homes for catastrophically injured service members, as well as helping pay off mortgages for the families of first responders killed in the line of duty.

Once the final car is built, there will be a hiatus. The unveiling is scheduled for July 18th, 2019 at a location in Southern California and according to rumor mill, the first production cars will start leaving the lines sometime in December of this year. Will they let us near it? Hey, NCM is right over there and the staff can vouch that I can safely drive a hot-rodded sedan, a beat-up old personal luxury coupe and a limousine around the track without causing harm to myself or others. I’ll bring my helmet and everything. What do you say?

From what I have read, there are plenty of C7’s on the lots unsold. I think that you will find one if you want to.
