Todd Ryden, our pal and one of the great dudes over at MSD Ignition attended the Sins of Steel show held in Davisburg, Michigan last weekend. This show was formerly known as Billetproof and was really the first major league traditional, pre-1964 rod and custom show. In 2007 show founder Kirk Jones sold the name and rights to the show to an entrepreneur who looked to expand the brand across the country. Well, in October of 2009, said entrepreneur decided to move the show, leaving the car clubs that had been there at Davisburg since the beginning with two options. One was to just go along like sheep to the new location and the other was to start their own friggin’ show.
In true hot rodder fashion, they chose door number two and created the Sins of Steel show. As Todd’s photos will illustrate, there was a great crowd, lots of truly bitchin’ cars and lots of stuff that Todd’s “lil buddy” approved of as well. It’s neat that the car clubs stuck together and held their own deal. Kudos to them for keeping the tradition alive!
