(Photos by Dave Nutting) – As promised, we’re going to be rolling a bunch of killer photos at you from the 2012 Run to the Shore, held last weekend at NJ Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ. Yesterday we showed you some sideways, tire smoking, off track excursion photos. Today we’re going to concentrate (mostly) on the dudes who kept it between the ditches…at least when they were passing by Dave Nutting’s lens.
As you’ll see in this gallery, there was a great variety of cars in the event. There were a few late model jobs in there but the vast majority were classic American muscle or pony cars. As is the current trend in the pro touring world, the first-gen Camaro certainly had the most representation, but to see Jeff Schwartz’s big Pontiac Tempest, a 1964 GTO road racer, Bill Howell’s mondo-big Charger, Tom Farrington’s ’66 Chevelle, and a bunch of other unique cars was really a treat.
We were truly impressed at how hard these guys and girls laid the lumber to their cars. It was not about posing or looking the best or having the flashiest killer parts on the the car, it was about really having fun behind the wheel of well balanced cars in a couple of different disciplines. This event has us itching to get project Buford T Justice’s suspension upgrades underway.
