2014 NSRA Street Rod Nationals Coverage: More Great Coverage From The Massive 45th Annual NSRA Bonanza

2014 NSRA Street Rod Nationals Coverage: More Great Coverage From The Massive 45th Annual NSRA Bonanza

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Well, I can’t recall the official total of cars ran in the gate during this year’s Nationals, but the number was clearly over 10,000 which is pretty healthy number.  Lets talk about some of the stuff you’ll see in here.  There’s a ’56 Chevy El Camino.  No, they didn’t make one from the factory, but if they did this purple wonder is likely how it would have turned out.

There’s a REAL Thunderbird gasser flying atop Tony McConnell’s Powerstroke-powered F-6 hauler.  You’ll see an old, rusted wrecker hauling a ¼ size version that has a real winch and is self-powered/driving.  We saw this authentic altered from back in the day which ran 10s on its ½ small-block Chevy.  The ‘California kid’ three-window makes an appearance.  We passed by a bunch of Studes and enjoyed them all.  An Edsel and a Baja Bug round out just some of the highlights.  A person could spend all day just trying to catalog the different makes and models in attendance.  Basically nearly all of them are there waiting for you to gawk at them.
