For the last week and a half…at least…the weather around Bowling Green, Kentucky has been perfectly predictable: Thunderstorm after thunderstorm, deluge after deluge, flooding, wind, and the occasional flying cow. The weather here has absolutely sucked, so when I learned that there was going to be a car show of any kind in the downtown square area of Bowling Green, I questioned the mental integrity of several humans, but by some miracle the weather managed to stay clear long enough for a great show for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund’s Cruisin’ For A Cure team. These are the same guys that do a weekly show at Bruster’s Ice Cream in town, so even if car shows aren’t your thing, you have to admire their tenacity and ability to bring out some of the hidden gems that are hiding in the Western Kentucky area out to be seen. With a cakewalk going on…seriously!…and vendors and a live band occupying the square, there was plenty to do, but you know us…if there are cars, our attention quickly becomes one-tracked!
