2016 NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl: Friday Action From Route 66 Raceway!

2016 NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl: Friday Action From Route 66 Raceway!

How big of a deal is the 2016 NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl event here at Route 66 Raceway here in Northern Illinois? Not only do we have Lohnes on the mic announcing the action, we have Chad working the live feed coverage and McTaggart and Bob Chiluk are covering the photos. And there is plenty to cover, come hell, high water, or even annoying-as-all-hell spitting rain that is only just enough to slow down progress. Andy Warren is fighting to keep his #1 position in Nostalgia Muscle Car, Dina Parise and her team have been working on getting her Pro Mod Cadillac CTS-V, “Stella”, into fighting shape, and the debut of Australian Pro Stock driver Nino Cavallo and his screaming Dodge Avenger-bodied car lived up to the expectations that we had for it and then some, tearing the 1,320 a brand new one in the process. Holley Factory Super Car driver David Witt’s heart rate might have calmed down after his Mustang Cobra Jet’s right rear tire called it a day at the 1000-foot mark at speed, and Dave Dudek’s F.A.S.T. Hemi Road Runner is set to kill, but there is competition in the form of a Sub-Lime Green Dodge Challenger that feathered out of a solid run…a little sandbagging, maybe? Hopefully the weather holds and we can get through more action as you read this, but for now, take a look at some of the action from Route 66 Raceway on Friday. 1. BIG G

Must be 1/8 mile racing no one there. 1/8 mile is killing the sport. Looks like our track when they race 1/8 mile empty.
