The 2019 Somernites Super Cruise broke a participation record: 2,022 cars were on display throughout the downtown area or were involved in one fashion or another with the weekend’s activities. Somerset, Kentucky isn’t tiny, but it isn’t that big, either! What was impressive was that formidable number didn’t come from random cars…a healthy percentage of vehicles on display were Mustangs, from the first to the latest, and included the likes of every variation of Mustang II Cobra, SVO, Mach 1, and of course the armada of Bullitt Mustangs that rolled in to meet the icon that set that trend in motion.
As you look through this gallery from the Somernites Cruise (or, for that matter, any Somernites Cruise gallery), understand that there are easily ten cars for every one we shoot. They may be out cruising up and down the six-lane main drag, or checking out the sites, or participating in the activities that are put on. Many cars headed out to London Dragway for some fun runs down the quarter mile, for example!
