First off we have to give props where they are due. Scott Clark (known as DieselGeek on the BangShift forums) gave us this awesome in-car footage of a 230 mph run in Lee Sicilio’s awesome Dodge Charger Daytona Clone and our own Chad did the edit job. If you’ve ever longed to hear a 498ci Hemi run WFO for about two minutes, hit play now.
Pay attention to how smooth Lee’s shifts are and how subtle and smooth his steering inputs are as well. The car is definitely moving around and Lee does a masterful job to keep himself from over driving it.
The engine is an EFI’d 498ci Chrysler Hemi built by Ray Barton. It is making serious snot to push the humongous Daytona into the 230 range. Believe it or not, there’s more left. Stay tuned. The A/Production record was slayed by the car earlier this week and the team wants to bump the record even higher!
