This is one of the neater galleries we’ve posted in a while! The photos come directly from Sweden, courtesy of BangShifter Jobergg and they were taken at ORSA Speed Weekend, a huge land speed racing event held on an equally massive frozen lake. The course, as we’ve badly translated, is 1,000 meters long and apparently there is wide open rules because you’ll see some wild stuff in this gallery.
There are lots of hot rods, crazy looking motorcycles, modern race cars, and even a couple of go kart looking contraptions with hellacious spiked tires. The muscle cars on skinny meats that look like the dude from Hellraiser’s head look totally different and cool. We simply cannot imagine riding a motorcycle on ice at hundreds of miles per hour, spiked tires of not. That’s nuts.
There are a bunch of traditional rods featured amongst the racing iron as well, which strikes us as doubly cool because the place, being as huge and white as it is almost looks like Bonneville. Hit the link below to see an awesome gallery of more than 150 photos from ORSA Speed Weekend in Sweden. This is 100% proof that hot rodding and the BangShift mentality exist in even the harshest environs on Earth!
