We are here at the famed Bonneville Salt Flats for SCTA-BNI Speed Week 2013. Chad arrived early this afternoon and blasted a gallery of 80 photos that highlight some of the coolest stuff he saw in tech and cruising the pits. You’ll see a Chevy Monza with a motor where the transmission used to be, a streamliner powered by a twin plug, blown, alky burning former top fuel Hemi, all kinds of cool hot rods and other junk that will whet your whistle for the coming week of action and news here at BangShift.
Stay tuned all week as we’ll hit the salt every day at sun up, and won’t leave until that bring orange orb is starting to lower itself behind the mountains that surround the Great Salt Lake here in Utah. Bonneville Speed Week 2013 is ON and we’re going to bring it harder than we ever have before with photos, features, news and gossip.
To get that whole gossip party started, the Flashpoint streamliner that you’ll see in this gallery is set to take on Speed Demon and the Turbinator for the race to 500 wheel driven MPH on the salt. The 65th running of the SCTA-BNI Bonneville Speed Week has all the makings of a historic week….and you’ll hear it all here FIRST!
I really like that the Stude has a vintage inline six under the hood. Not what I was expecting.
Which is one of the reasons I like Bonneville…
Some very high tech builds under the oldies bodies. So why is nearly everything based on vintage body work? Something to do with the class they are in?
