The Long Beach Motorama has been going since 1958 and continues to feature some of the most beautiful and wonderfully executed kustoms in the world. The show is really broken into two parts. There is the show inside the arena which is limited to pre-1964 Kustoms only and the area outside, which is open to all pre-1969 American cars.
We were torn on which part of the show we liked the best. Outside there were ancient dragsters and Bonneville racers, but inside there was a truly magnificent collection of kustom cars and trucks that knocked our socks off.
We’ll admit that we are nowhere near as conversant on the subtle touches that make great kustoms what they are as we should be, but then again, we knows ’em when we sees ’em and this show had our head on a swivel.
