Getting in to the Grand National Roadster Show on Saturday, with your hot rod, is a pretty big deal. The Grand Daddy Drive-In allows hot rodders to drive into the Fairplex grounds and park all around the numerous buildings and exhibit halls full of show cars so that everyone can enjoy that cruise in car show atmosphere, and also feel a little bit like the big shots with their cars inside the buildings. The number of cars allowed is limited, and that makes it a special deal for car owners. And since the Fairplex is such a cool facility, there are all kinds of nice places to park, setup the barbecue and cooler, and hang out for the day.
We ran around Saturday afternoon checking them out and drooling, and even managed to snap some photos for you to enjoy. Whether you bring your own hot rod or not, the Grand National Roadster Show is an iconic event that you really need to be a part of. If it’s not been on your bucket list already, make sure it is now. Hell, this is one where BangShift Contributors like Bob Chiluk and Justin Oney come just to hang out and spectate. Of course both of them can’t leave the house without their cameras, so stay tuned for some super cool stuff from both of these “tourists” next week.
