Event Photos: Hundreds Of Aussie Hot Rods And Muscle Cars Invade Uraidla

It’s international weekend here at BangShift.com thanks to Darryl Daniels who sent us photos from the Uraidla 2012 Picnic Cruise in Australia. I was going to write something witty and creative based on what Darryl told us about the event, but I really think he did it well enough we should let his words tell the story. Plus, he uses Australian words which makes it way more authentic. Here’s what Darryl had to say. “G’day again guys, I attended the Uraidla Picnic Cruise today, where over 400 street cars , muscle cars and rods of all shapes and sizes cruised into the Uraidla oval for one of the best days all round that we have had for a while. Every revhead was catered for with Fords , GM , and Chrysler brotherhoods here. Even a couple of foreign jobs fronted up as well! A top Rock n Roll band was belting out all day and they were good, but you know you’re getting old when you know all the words to the tunes. Plenty of blowers and a couple of turbos, and every car here was driven to and from this event. This is the first time I have attended this event although it has been running for a while , but I will be going again , next time as a participant! Also, there was plenty of dancing and girls with their own cars too. All in all a great event. Cheers Darryl Daniels

We couldn’t have said it better Darryl. Special thanks for the photos.

I was there! great event, unfortunately my car didn’t make it into Darryl’s piks (mine was the black XB Falcon coupe)… Darryl, if you’re reading this, are you the same darryl who used to live in Smithfield SA? If so, g’day ! – I’m the guy who gave you a 50’s Dodge with the roof cut off in the early 70’s (I was 14, and dumb…)

No worries, will do – hey, heres a story thats both bangshifty and Australian – do you remember the time you took Stu fishing in your Monaro? I will never forget when you guys came home, front wheels just bouncing off the ground because of the huge white pointer shark that was hanging out the boot!! Remember you came up with a big slab of shark meat for us? We had the best feed of fish and chips that night!!

my email is [email protected] by the way…
