Every time the NHRA Wally Parks Motorsports Museum hosts their Prolong Twilight Cruise the place is packed. And as one guy commented to me, there is nothing “twilight” about it. People start showing up just after noon, and it’s not even supposed to start until later in the evening! There are spots for a few hundred cars at the museum, and it’s packed each and every time. It’s no wonder the NHRA Prolong Twilight Cruise in Pomona is one of those spots that folks put on their list for vacation stops. And the quality of cars fills the entire spectrum. From the most basic home built and under construction hot rods, to some serious show contenders, there is something for everyone. I have favorites that I like to see each time we go, and yet I always see something new that I’ve never seen before.
This time I ran into Rob McIntosh who’s Chevelle we featured last year and walked around with him acting as lead blocker so I could snap photos. Of course we ran into a lot of regulars as well, but this time I also got asked to do the Celebrity Pick award. After laughing at the NHRA gang for calling me a celebrity, I, unfortunately, had to decline because I had another stop to make before the show was over. Next time for sure guys! Thanks for asking.
We’ve got our first gallery of photos, with one more coming tomorrow, at the link below.
There is a term for “People start showing up just after noon…” –> “Power Parkers”.
