Chryslers At Carlisle 2015: Wagons, Wings, and Muscle Galore

Chryslers At Carlisle 2015: Wagons, Wings, and Muscle Galore

(Photos by Ryan Severance) – Yesterday we were showing you all kinds of cool “Forward Look” designed Chryslers from the late 1950s. Today we’re cranking the knob on the time machine forward about 10 years to see wagons, muscle cars, and other stuff that mostly days from the later 1960s. Yes there are some older cars sprinkled in but consider those Easter Eggs. What’s pretty amazing to look at is the different in the design language just over  the span of 12 years. From the flamboyance and over the top looks of the Eisenhower era to the crisp lines and far more subdued look just a few years ahead. The buyers changed the the attitudes changed as well.

Now that being said, this was also the era of the Wing car and those are about as subtle as a bazooka attack but that is what made them stand out all the more. In a world of squares they were wedged shaped, high flying, big speed making monsters that no one really wanted. We all know the story about how many of them sat on dealer lots, etc. Today they are among the most prized pieces of any serious Mopar show or collection.

Good stuff in here. Take a look!

Great pictures thanks Brian. Anyone know what year/model that Tan Dodge Wagon with the Ontario plate and suitcase on its roof is?
