Drag Gallery: The 2011 BHRA Nationals – Kennedale, Texas

Bill Hielscher was one hell of a drag racer and one of a true pioneers with respect to “touring professionals” in straight line competition. He was best known as “Mr. Bardahl” and had a whole fleet of cars that competed mostly on the AHRA tour back in the day. He also operated race tracks and has been described by many as a “one man PR machine”. There has been a celebration race running for 9 years now, honoring his memors. Fittingly, the race is run the Kennedale, Texas located Texas Raceway, which Hielscher’s daughter Cindy operates.

We were stoked when lensman Jason Bryant of Bryant Motorsports Imaging contacted us and asked if we’d like some photos from the event. We of course took him up on his offer and were rewarded with more than 100 shots from the race featuring lots of the car and people who have made this event the baddest drag race in Northern Texas for most of the last decade!

Hit the link below to see the photos. You’ll see nostalgia floppers, fuel altereds, wheel standing sportsman cars, and a totally awesome jet powered Willys!
