Event Coverage: The NEATTA Antique Tractor Show and Pull

I love old tractors. I really have no idea why but I have just as much love for a 1948 Ford 8N as I do a 1970 LS6 Chevelle. Luckily, show season is getting cranked up here in New England and we caught wind of the New England Antique Truck and Tractor Association’s first show of the season.

There was a great array of show tractors and a solid field of pullers, which was dominated by a nasty two-stroke diesel powered Oliver 77. The pulls were cool to watch as most tractors spent the majority of the time with the front end a couple of feet in the air as they chugged away trying to pull the sled.

Tractors are a great part of modern American history and with their minimalist styling, mechanical simplicity, and sheer longevity, they are a blast to hang around. The show also catered to vintage trucks. Keep your eyes peeled for the killer 1959 Dodge Power Wagon, it’s one of 185 built and will be the subject of an upcoming feature here on BS.com
