Bruce Larson, the 1989 NHRA Funny Car champion and long time legend, opens up his barn and property to the public every Fall for Dragfest. It’s part car show, part gathering of legends, and all awesome. Our East Coast photo maven Joe Grippo was on hand to bring us more than 150 images from the event.

We’re not sure what’s cooler, the cars outside that people brought to show, or Bruce’s awesome collection of personal race cars in his barn. Many people know about his match race 1966 Chevelle funny car that resides at the Don Garlits Museum, but our personal favorite car of his is the 1968 Camaro that was powered by a nitro-guzzling big-block Chevy.
Bruce raced hard for many years on his brains, ability, and a limited budget. His 1989 championship run put the cherry on top of a great career. We’re sad that we missed this event but are eternally grateful that Joe was there to shoot this gallery!
