Event Gallery: Race Cars at the Shelby American Automobile Club National Convention – Watkins Glen International Raceway

(Photos by Joe Grippo) – This year’s Shelby American Automobile Club national convention, held at Watkins Glen International Raceway in New York certainly came under different circumstances than any before it. This of course, is the first convention to be held since Carroll Shelby passed just a short time ago. Joe Grippo, our PA-based photo contributor attended the event because he’s a hard core car guy and someone who has Ford blood cursing through his veins. The man was in proverbial heaven and he delivered a hella cool gallery focused on all of the different and beautiful Shelby creations at the track.

From the GT40s to the Mustangs and everything in between (hey, he even snuck a worked over Pinto in here!) there is now and forever will be an aura surrounding anything that was modified or improved by Shelby and his company. Is there really a car guy alive that would look another car guy in the face and tell them he didn’t want a GT40 or 289/427 Cobra? We don’t think that guy exists and if he does exist, he sucks.

Hit the link below and take a trip through a Shelby lover’s dream world!

Thanks as always to Joe Grippo for the bitchin’ photos!
