(Photos and words by Bob Chiluk) – Lane Automotive  in Michigan probably had no idea that a few years ago if they sponsored an event if it would fly.Well fly it did and like they could not have ever  imagined. The driver and machine centered event has become “what’s in” these days and for good reason.

When you invite a bunch of hard core car people to a massive facility to see how a top notch automotive parts distribution works, then take them on a police escorted 70 mile cruise thru the magnificent countyside and lake  Michigan shore, finishing with a beach BBQ it is cool. When you add the next day turning them all loose to run their junk on the famous two mile ,11 eleven turn Gingerman Raceway road course it is even cooler but that’s not enough for the guys at Lane. They add a third day run “what ya brung” all day autocross! Thanks to Lane Automotive and parent company Allstar Performance as well as a few generous sponsors we all got a fun filled car lovers weekend that we’re already looking forward to for next year.
