(Photos by Darryl Daniels) – Last week we showed you some great photos from the 2013 Top Gear Festival Australia from Aussie BS contributor Darryl Daniels. The good news is that we are back with another dispatch from the event. The bad news is that our jealousy if Darryl having been at this cool gathering is unabated. With everything from modern exotics to traditional hot rods and muscle cars, this was an even unlike anything we have in the US. It looks like the Top Gear Festival was a true celebration of everything cool about cars. The funny thing is that it may seem unlikely that guys rolling in high end exotics would like to hang out with busted knuckle hot rodders, but it works every time. Across this country, events like “cars and coffee” have been bringing all corners of the car hobby happily together more frequently over the last few years. It is a great trend and maybe something we learned from our pals in the Southern Hemisphere.
In this gallery, you’ll see some bitchin’ stuff. We especially dig the wing cars, right hand drive shoebox Chevys, and muscle car era Holden Monaro models. If we were ever to import one car from Oz to the USA it would be a Monaro from the late 1960s. One of those cars with a hot inline six and the steering wheel on the wrong side would be awesome to cruise around in and bring to shows and the drags. This gallery has a few to see.
