(Photos by Joe Grippo) – We always look forward to fall and seeing Joe Grippo’s photos from events like Fleming’s Pumpkin run. This year the weather turned for the worse in the morning and what was the largest crowd in the event’s history quickly melted away as the water fell from the sky. That being said, Joe isn’t water soluble and neither is his camera or the rest of his stuff so he hung out and blasted a bunch of cool photos from the show.
What sets this event apart for us is (first) the location at Fleming’s Junkyard which allows people to wander through its wooden acreage and see what they can see. This is the type of ancient, east coast junkyard that is all but done these days. Unlike the vast open expanses out west or down south, old school junkyards in this corner of the country are often set into the woods with cars jammed into wherever they could fit at the time. Now everything is all organized and stuff but back when Fleming’s started you drug the stuff in, set it down and the only computer was the old man at the gate’s brain.
Race cars, muscle cars, hot rods, and trucks all fill this place and here’s the first sampling you will get. We’re going to be back tomorrow with more from Flemings’s Pumpkin Run 2015!
