Last Friday night, the Lohnes clan loaded into Buford T Justice and headed south to attend the first of the weekly Connecting Rods cruise nights of the 2013 season. This is a Friday night tradition that goes down at a local Walmart. Cars come from all over the local area and if we had to take a shot at it, we’d say a couple hundreds attended this first event. As the nights get longer and the temperature consistently rises, so does the attendance at this cruise night. We had a great time listening to the music and checking out the iron, which included hot rods, Checkers, a great gathering of the local Model T club, a late 1920s Franklin, tons of muscle cars, and some hard core street machines. Everyone had a great evening and we’re already looking forward to hitting the next one when my travel schedule allows for it!
