Here’s A Collection Of The Most BangShifty Stuff At The 2015 Carl Casper Car Show

Here’s A Collection Of The Most BangShifty Stuff At The 2015 Carl Casper Car Show

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – The 2015 Carl Casper show took place during some not very accommodating weather, but the turnout was still pretty good.  This year the venue offered more food vendors, seating, and set the whole West Wing of the Exposition Center for traditional-type cars, survivors, gassers, etc.  They called it ‘Coolsville’ and it was.

We spent more time in there than the rest of the show which is a much larger slice of floor.  I try to hear as many stories about cars as I can and attempt to relay them as often as possible.    One such is the black highboy tudor and the motorize bike next to it.  I was told they went to the not-ran Bonneville Speedweek this year and was rode on the salt.  Definitely something to check off the bucket list.  The hammered ‘WTF Speedshop’ ’30 Ford appears to have been driven to the show in the slush, ice, and slop for FTW.  The chopped and channeled tudor paying tribute to the 2nd Amendment was adorned with primers and shell casings.

Talking about cool – a 409 Impala and Hemi Belvedere are about as cool as any factory car could ever be.  The bare-metal coupe was off the charts with craftsmanship and vision in color, form, and functionality.  The steering appeared to be fashioned like a tractor.  The clear valve covers were something I hadn’t seen in years.  The blue paint contrasted well with the other tones and textures of the bead-rolling and formed panels.  There was a lot more in Coolsville, but it was too much to put all in one gallery so you’ll find more West-Wing stuff in future articles.

I can’t please anyone. Scott, there were more, but I am trying to keep the number of photos to a reasonable level. Yes, its a BBC car with stickies on back. Did you not see the wagons in the other article…? I think there are more in another gallery that hasn’t ran yet. My 14-yr-old is a B-body nut and keeps me honest on capturing them. Many are actually his photos. If we have copies I use the better image of the two.

C’mon Doug, you could have posted up more pix of the Hemi Belvedere and left out the fake/rubbed out paint/patina Ford…………

And just out of curiosity, what was the draw to the 66 Chev?

    🙂

I took more of the Belvedere, but I try to keep the galleries to 50 pictures or less (sort of a policy thing with BS). I think if the car catches my eye or the owner engages me then I will put that in the gallery. On the ’66 – my 14-yr-old is a b-body nut. He noticed the stickies on back, The 3″ exhaust and BBC under the hood. Works for me.
