(Photos by Charles Wickam) – You knew we would get to some freaks at this show sooner or later, right? You do remember what website this is you are reading, correct? Today’s the day and that 1957 Chevy in the lead image below is leading the freak parade in this installment of cool Charles Wickam photo coverage of the 2014 Houston Autorama. We’re not sure what that car did to deserve the treatment that it got but when you think about the fact that the car you see above was once the pride and joy of a person who bought it brand new off the lot it makes the whole thing seems a little worse, right? This was once assembled in Detroit in a uge factory by guys that were probably chugging a quart of whiskey at lunch and chain smoking Pall Malls as it rolled on by. We’re sure most of those guys are gone now but if any of the original plant workers knew what was going to happen to that specific car do you think they would have done something to stop it? How neat would it be to get a time machine and follow the car from the moment the body met the frame, through all of its owners, all of the trials and tribulations until it ultimately ended up as that thing. We think it would be an amazing journey. The more scary question? Where does it go from here?
There are some cars and trucks in here to cleanse your taste buds of that creation but we couldn’t help ourselves. Hope we didn’t ruin anyone’s lunch or anything. We choked ours back down after staring at the photo for too long. Jeez.
Loving the Fox Mustangs and the T-Bird. Lots of good stuff in there. Didn’t see any donks so that’s good.
